My Every Day Face

So, as you may have guessed from the title of this post, this is going to be showing you what makeup I wear on a daily basis. I need to apologise in advance for the quality of the images, as my camera battery decided to die as soon as I went to take the photo's for this post so I have had to make do with my iphone as I wanted to get this up today!

(Warning, take a deep breath before reading this lot!)

My everyday makeup is pretty simple, I tend to stick with a nude eye and lip for day time, so as I can vamp it up for nights out or special occasions with a bright lip or smokey eye or though there is the odd day where I will mix it up a bit! But for the most part, this is what I wear daily and find it lasts through the whole day.

Base- I don't tend to use a primer daily as I don't feel I need it, but I do like a apply a bit of the Monu Skin Perfector (I got this in a glossybox) under my foundation. I find this just evens out my skin tone a little.

Foundation- I didn't have this to hand when I was photographing my products, but the foundation I have been using recently is the Clinique Superbalanced Makeup in the shade Beige Chiffon. I havn't been using this foundation for long but I really like it. I had been using the Revlon Colorstay, but wanted something a bit lighter for summer so gave this a go and I am really happy with the results. It leaves my skin looking fresh and covers any blemishes and discolouration well. I apply this with a Real Techniques Stippling Brush which gives it a really airbrushed finish.

Concealer- I actually use two concealers and love them equally. I have been using Mac Studio Finish in Nc 30 and Mac Studio Sculpt N20 as my holy grail concealers for over a year now. I use studio finish over any blemishes and redness that I have, and studio sculpt (in a slightly lighter colour) under my eyes to brighten them and conceal any bags!

Brows- Ever since I got my HD Brows Palette in my Glossybox last year, I have used it ever since, and as you can see, have now hit pan on my colour. My palette is Bombshell and the colour I use is ash blonde, which is suprising as I am a brunette but find this colour works perfectly and allows me to avoid having a really dark brow. I use a Royal and Langnickel C490 (Small angled brush) to apply this to my eyebrows.

Powder- To set my concealer, I will use a pressed powder and at the moment the one I am using is the Gosh Pressed Powder in the shade 02 So Natural. This sets my makeup nicely and makes it last all day. (I would not recommend this powder for photographs, as it does give flashback)

Eyes- My eyes are usually left pretty simple and nude and for day time I try and concentrate on creating a flawless base rather than pops of colour. For shadow, I use my Blush Cosmetics 88 palette, putting a matte nude colour all over the lid using the Round Shader brush from Frontcover and follow by blending a light matte brown through my crease using a No.7 Blend and Contour brush.

I then apply a mascara to my top and bottom lashes. I mix my mascara up all the time, but at the moment I am using Daniel Sandler Jumbo Jet mascara, which creates a really full lash.

Cheeks- On my cheeks, I will either use my Famous by Sue Moxley bronzer (which is a nice baked, warm bronzer which some shimmer and gold veins running through it. You can find this in some Superdrug stores) in Shade 3- Tahiti to give my face some warmth or my Mac Blush is the colour Harmony (a matte, muted rose beige colour) to contour my cheekbones. For this I use the Real Techniques Blush Brush.

To highlight, I use my Mac Cream Colour Base in Pearl, on the tops of my cheekbones and on my brow bone. I love this highlighter and it is great for skin tones with olive or yellow undertones.

Lips- On my lips I will usually just use a lipbalm, my favourite at the moment is the Palmer's Cocoa Butter Lip Balm but if I want something a little bit more, I will use my No.7 Perfect Lips Pencil in the shade 02 Nude, which is a perfect 'my lips but better' colour, and to add a bit of a sheen, I will put my Becca Beach Tint in the colour Watermelon on top of this.

And there you have it, my every day face :) x

  1. A great post!
I really need something for my eyebrows, I'm such a hard colour to match in drugstore though and not sure I'm willing to pay high street prices. Do you prefer pencils or eyeshadows?

    1. I definitely prefer eyeshadows for filling in my eyebrows, I find pencils to be a bit too harsh and not as natural looking! Gosh do a eyebrow kit with three different colours and a brow gel in for around £8, could be worth a look? xx
