Glossybox July 2012

So I definitely feel like I have been neglecting my blog, and for that, i'm sorry! But with the gorgeous weather we've been having in the UK, I have been outside making the most of it and trying to get a tan! Anyhoo, it's that time of the month again when pretty pink boxes start appearing at the door. I received my July Glossybox today, and as always was super excited to see what was inside. I had read a few spoilers, so I knew what products were flying around this month and I knew exactly which one I wanted to get, although I wasn't particularly hopeful as my last few boxes haven't been fab.

So, I dived straight into the packaging only to find that the product I wanted was there, I literally let out a scream. The Hd Brows Palette was something I had already got in a previous box from last year. I had been using it everyday since and as you can see, had hit pan. I had been debating for ages on whether I would repurchase this, as I really only use the one colour and was just going to go back to using a Mac eyeshadow, but getting this in my Glossybox has left me without a brow worry for at least the next 6 months!

I was actually really happy with all the other products I got too- my next favourite being the Jelly Pong Pong Cosmetics Lip Frosting in 'Irish Cream Pavlova' (such a cute name) which is a gorgeous pink cream gloss that can be used on both the lips and cheek.

I also got-

Monu Golden Glow, a gradual moisturising tan for the face and body. I'm really interested in giving this a go, as I love gradual tanners (Garnier Summer Body being my HG moisturising tanner) I am going to try this on my face tonight as I have started to get a bit of a body tan from this glorious weather, but like to keep my face protected when outside. This will hopefully help me match up perfectly!

Clynol Salon Exclusive Enrich Colour Shampoo- Can't wait to try this, I love shampoo's that give your hair a nice glossy shine like you have just come straight from a salon. It smells lovely too!

Lastly I got a couple of Elizabeth Arden goodies. I love all the 8 hour products, so I will be interested to see how these work for me. I got the Visible Difference Skin Balancing Lotion SPF 15 and a bonus product of sachet samples of other products from this line. (Which are all targeted at combination skin, perfect for me, so they must be starting to use our beauty profiles, yay!)

Overall I am super impressed with this box, I didn't have high hopes, as the last few boxes I have received have been very dissapointing, but I am left feeling super happy! I feel like this month Glossybox have really made a come back in my books, I just hope the standard is kept this high!

Did you get a Glossybox this month? What products did you get? Or are you subscribed to any other beauty boxes?

June Glossybox 2012

Today I received the June box Glossybox! I have always been a big fan of the whole beauty box concept and love the idea of getting a box of beauty surprises through my door each month, but I must admit lately I have been a little let down. The May box was a dissapointment for me, especially when I looked at other blogs where I saw people had received full size HD Brows products where I have received perfume samples! I know a lot of other people felt the same, and I really can't understand why everybody is not given the same things each month to make it more fair. I know the beauty box concept can be a bit hit and miss anyway, and you have to expect that, but afterall, we are all paying the same price for our boxes! Saying this, I do try not to be too hard on Glossybox, as I have received some amazing items in the past, such as the HD Brows Palette which has become a holy grail in my makeup bag.
This month I was really hoping Glossybox would make a come back in my books, so here's what I got in this months box.

The box felt surprisingly light, and when I opened it, I saw the reason why. Lots of samples. I don't get too put off when I see samples, as after all it is a sample service, but I think we all have that disappointing moment when we don't see a full size product.

First, I had the Vichy Dermablend Camouflage Foundation Stick starter kit. I was happy to see this as I have been wanted to try Vichy products for a while. I like that the kit came with six different colours as so you would have a better chance of having one that suited your skin tone, although I was surprised to see no darker shades. I am excited to try this as I had been thinking about picking up the full size for a while!

Next up is a Glossybox brush. A nice touch, but a little unsure as to whether this counts as high end product. I feel this would have been good as an added extra, like last month's compact mirror. Saying that, you can never have too many brushes, so it is something I will use, although it isn't particularly soft.

Perfume Samples. Oh boy. I think it's safe to say Glossybox have given me enough perfume samples to last me a life time. These are from Agent Provocateur and this box contained three sample bottles. I do actually really love two of the scents, in particular the 'Maitresse' which I am considering purchasing.

Next up a mineral bronzer sample from BM Beauty, which is something I was excited to see. I have had a eye shadow pigment sample before and really liked it. Although the packaging is a little difficult to work with without spilling it everywhere, this is definitely something I will use to add a subtle hint of warmth to my face.

Lastly I got a mascara sample from Yves Rocher. At 2.5ml this really is a tiny sample, but the wand looks nice and I will be trying this out tomorrow

Overall I am fairly happy with my box this month, there are definitely things I will use and possibly repurchase. I was a little disappointed to see others were getting the HD Brows tweezers, but like I said, these beauty boxes can be a bit hit and miss and that is all part of it. One month could be great while the next could be rubbish. I do look back to last years boxes though where every box contained at least one very exciting product and wish they would bring that back!

May Glossybox 2012

I have been a huge fan of the whole beauty box concept from the beginning and have always been a loyal subscriber to Glossybox! So, I thought I would share my thoughts on the most recent, May box.

This month, it was Glossybox's one year anniversary, so along with the 6 standard items, they also included a Happy Birthday Balloon and a Glossybox compact mirror which was a nice touch.

The box was its normal light pink colour, but with a different tissue paper covered in drawings of lipsticks, cupcakes and brushes which is really cute!

The items I got this month are;

Noble Isle Bath and Shower Gel in 'Cornish Hedgerows'. A rich scented gel, which I am yet to try, although for me it does smell like quite a masculine scent.

Two Perfume Samples from Lolita Lempicka. I really like both these perfumes, they are sweet and almost powdery, which is nice for summer.

Apivita Express Beauty Masks. I received two masks in the scent Orange. I have already used one of these and really liked it. It contains small orange beads which gently exfoliate the skin when applying the mask. The scent is gorgeous and it left my skin feeling soft and smooth.

Osmo Berber Oil Hair Treatment. I wasn't thrilled when I saw this in my box, as I have received so many hair oil products in previous box's so was not in any need for another. However I used this today after washing my hair, and it did leave the ends of my hair feeling less dry and softer than normal. Although, like I said, I would have preferred to get one of the other products available this month.

Eldora False Eyelashes. This was the item I was most excited about as I love false lashes, although I was not overly thrilled the ones I received, as I tend to go for a solid black lash and the pair I was sent have gold glitter running through them. Some people may love this, but for me, this is not something I am going to get much use of out.

Overall, I was happy with the contents of my box, but feel that I will not get any use out of one or two of the items, but, this is the risk you take with subscription boxes as you never know what items you will receive. I was dissapointed not to see a makeup product included in my box, as that is the main reason I am signed up to Glossybox, and was even more dissapointed to find out that some people received HD Brows products in their boxes this month, a brand which I love, but as always, you can't please everyone!
This is the first month I have been dissapointed with products sent to my by Glossybox, so I definitely will not be un-subscribing and I am excited to see what I will receive next month.

What do you think of beauty box subscription services? What did you think of this months Glossybox?
