Top 5: Drugstore Lipsticks!

Hey lovelies! I decided I would start a top 5 series, as I love reading them, so wanted to share some of my top products with you. I am splitting them up into categories and highstreet/drugstore and high end, as it would be way to hard to narrow them all down into a top 5! So today, I am starting with my top 5 drugstore/highstreet lipsticks!

L'Oreal Rouge Caresse 'Impulsive Fuchsia'. I have spoken about these lipsticks before and this has to be my favourite colour from the ones I own. It is a bright fuchsia which is so, so glossy on the lips and leaves a gorgeous finish. I lovvee the packaging, it almost has a high end feel about it and the formulation is lovely! This retails at £7.99, which I think is a great price! My full review of Impulsive Fuchsia can be seen here.

Elf  Lipstick 'Nicely Nude'. This is from the eyeslipsface mineral line and is my favourite highstreet nude. Its that 'my lips but better' in colour and has an almost matte finish when first applied, but when built up gives the slightest gloss finish. It is really pigmented and I think this shade would suit all skin tones aswell as work well with both a dark and nude eye! This lasts for ages on the lips and is a bargain at £5.

Miss Sporty Perfect Colour Lipstick 'Innocence'. I have owned this for ages now and is one of my most worn lipsticks. (as you can see I have nearly finished it!) It is a light, bright, but wearable pink that looks lovely for a night out, or even to add a pop of colour in the day and I love how this works against my dark hair. It has slightly sticky feeling on the lips, but not in a bad way, this means it stays on for a long time. I'm not actually sure if this shade is still available, as I bought this so long ago, but the range is definitely worth checking out as they are only £2.59 each!

Revlon Lip Butter 'Sweet Tart'. These lip butters are very popular and I for one love them. Of the few that I own Sweet Tart is my fave. It is a lovely bright pink with a slight berry under tone, which makes it so wearable. They are very similar in formula to the L'Oreal Rouge Caresse lipsticks, although I would say the Lip Butters are creamier. It is so moisturising and leaves a lovely glossy finish. Lip butters retail for £7.99.

Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain 'Rendezvous'. Revlon have been bringing out some amazing lip products recently, firstly Lip Butters and then these! So, i'm slightly cheating with this one as it isn't exactly a lipstick, but I love it all the same. Rendezvous is a bright coral colour which I lovee and is the dupe for the Clinique Chubby Sticks. I love the crayon packaging and how it applies. It can be softly worked onto the lips for a sheer wash of colour or built up for a intense bright lip. I have done a full review on this, which you can check out here. The Balm Stains retail for £7.99, although they are on offer in Boots right now for £5.99!

Hope you enjoyed this post! Feel free to leave requests on which top 5 you would like to see next! What are your top 5 lipsticks?

No.7 Nail Polish

Hey girls, a nail polish post today! I had a couple of No.7 vouchers that needing using sooo, I picked up a couple of their nail polishes. The nail polishes retail at £7.50 each, but with the £5 off voucher, they are a steal at £2.50. In all honestly though, I would never spend the £7.50 (probably £5 at the most) on them and would much rather grab an Essie polish as I think the quality is a little better, but for £2.50 I think its amazing value and they have a fab range of colours. I picked up 'Snowflake' (such a cute name) and 'Pinky Pure'. Snowflake is a pure white and Pink Pure a bright baby pink. They are both very pretty colours and stood out to me straight away. I love having whites in my collection as there is so much you can do with them. These polishes did take a few coats to get to a completely opaque nail and they do brush on very sheer, but, that means these two could work perfectly together for a french manicure as well as a solid colour. I love the way these polishes look so glossy and they both look beautiful with a tan!

Have you tried  No.7 nail polishes? What colours do you love?

Natural Collection Eyeshadows

// Asteroid //
 // Barley //

Natural Collection is a brand I had heard of but had never picked anything up for them before. Whilst in Boots, I saw they had some single eyeshadows which looked really nice for £1.70, so I began swatching and was really suprised at how lovely they looked on the skin. They had a 3 for £5 offer on, so I picked up a few and decided to give them a try.

My two favourites from the ones I picked up are 'Barley' and 'Asteroid'. Barley is a skin toned gold colour with lots of shimmer, which when applied gives a gorgeous hint of shimmer to the skin and works lovely as a base colour. Asteroid is a dark brown with flecks of gold shimmer running through it, which I have been using to deepen the outer corner of my eyes. For £1.70 each these eyeshadows are both affordable and good quality and work great for a subtle smokey eye.

FYI:
I also noticed that these are the same size as Mac eyeshadows and when depotted fit into the Mac palettes perfectly!

I would love to know if you have tried these eyeshadows and what you thought. I would be interested in seeing if they had any matte colours in the collection!

Barry M Nail Paints

Left-Right // Mint Green// Cyan Blue// Peach Melba
Left-Right  // Pink Silver Glitter// Silver Glitter // Black Multi Glitter

I have been routing through my nail polish collection recently and trying to use some of the high street buys that can sometimes be forgotten about in favour for the more expensive brands. In doing this, I have rediscovered my love for Barry M Nail Paints and have been wearing them a lot over the past month or so.

I love how affordable they are (£2.99 for a 10ml bottle) and the huuge range of colours in the collection, from brights to pastels, in different textures and styles such as glitter and magnetic.

I have six firm favourite colours from Barry M which I wanted to share with you!

Mint Green- I love pastels for this time of year, and this is a perfect green to brighten up any outfit. This is actually one of the only greens I will wear on my nails.

Cyan Blue- A bright sky blue which looks lovely with a tan. This colour works beautifully along side the 'Silver Glitter'.

Peach Melba- A very popular peach colour which has been one of my favourite pastels for over a year now. This looks so lovely with a tan and is perfect for day and night!

Silver Glitter- A clear polish with dozens of small flecks of glitter running through it. This has been my 'go to' glitter polish since last Christmas! I love it and think it has the perfect amount of glitter for either a full silver nail, or a glitter finish over another colour. I also love doing a scattered effect with this polish.

Pink Silver Glitter- The pink version of the 'Silver Glitter' polish. A clear varnish full of pink, silver and light purple glitter flecks.

Black Multi Glitter- (Can you tell I love glitters!?) A glossy black polish with lots of multi coloured flecks of glitter running through it. I love this colour for a night out and a bold statement on the nail.

These polishes are so pretty and are great quality for only £2.99!
You can pick up Barry M in most Boots or Superdrug's.

Essie 'Looking For Love'

I love pastel and neutral colours for day time in the summer and Essie's 'Looking For Love' combines these both in one gorgeous polish!

Looking For Love is a lovely, soft grey toned lilac, which looks very subtle on the nails. I don't usually go for purples on my nails, but I feel that this tone is a lot more wearable for me than a bright purple and I do really like the colour. The only down side of this polish is that it is very sheer. So sheer that to build up this colour it took me four coats and as you can see the tips of my nails are still slightly showing through. However, as it is so sheer, it is very fast drying, so doing each of the four coats wasn't too much of a trouble, but this definitely isn't something I would grab when in a rush!

With my top coat (Sally Hansen Insta-Dri) my nails look super glossy and these stay chip free for days. The long lasting formula is part of the reason that I love Essie nail polish, it is one of my favourite brands and I am so glad they are stocking it in Boots now!

Do you like Essie polish? What colours do you have?

NOTD: No.7 Glitter Top Coat

If you saw my most recent haul post, you will know that I picked up one of the new No.7 Glitter Top Coats and I said that I was planning on doing a separate post dedicated to the polish. So here it is!

There's two colours in this limited edition range, Gold and Silver, I picked up Silver but I am definitely going to be trying out the Gold too!

The varnish is basically a clear top coat polish with pieces of glitter running through it. What I love so much about this polish, is that there is different sized pieces, some smaller and some chunky, giving a very 3D and scattered effect on the nail. I have talked before about my beloved Barry M Silver Glitter polish, but I think this one mayyy have topped it, due to the chunkier pieces of glitter, which reminds me a lot of Essie's Set In Stones.

I wore it over Leighton Denny's Babydoll (a baby pink colour and a combo that I love) and although I think this would look lovely over any colour, I think it could also be worn alone and layered up to create a fully silver nail.

Overall I am really impressed with this polish. It retails at £8, but if you use one of the No.7 £5 vouchers that are flying around at the moment, it comes to £3, an absolute steal!

What do you think of glitter top coats? Do you have a favourite?

Haul: Jewellery, Clothes & Nails!

Yesterday I went shopping on the hunt for the perfect cream blazer. Of course, as usual, I ended up coming home without a cream blazer, but with lots of other goodies!

I had a couple of No.7 £5 off vouchers which needed spending, so took full advantage and picked up a couple of nail polishes. The first is one of the new glitter top coats in 'Silver'. I am absolutely in love with this polish and I am hoping they will add more colours to the line. It is a clear polish with chunky pieces of glitter which gives the nail a 3D effect. I got home and put this straight on top of my silver Barry M glitter polish and love that it adds more texture and depth. I am going to be doing a separate post dedicated to this nail polish and the different ways you can wear it!
I then also picked up 'Cheeky Chops', a beautiful bright coral pink which is perfect for summer.

I then went to Dorothy Perkins and saw they had a huge sale stand of jewellery. There was some amazing pieces for £2-£3 and I could have stayed there all day picking bits out but limited myself to just a few!

Firstly I picked up this lovely silver over sized ring. I love the detailing on it and how it stretches up the majority of the finger and thought it was an absolute steal at £2!

Next I picked up a peter pan collar necklace. It is made of sequins and is a pearly white colour. I plan on wearing this with a black chiffon shirt and think it will really jazz up an outfit. This was £1, which is amazing value!

Lastly, I picked up this ring which I am absolutely obsessed with. It is a gold over sized ring with aqua blue, green and gold gems on the top. I love how the colours work together and look against the skin. It is super sparkly when it catches the light and I can see myself wearing this a lot! I actually wore it out last night and got several compliments on it, with my friends asking if it was swarovski!

I then popped into primark not really expecting to find anything as it can be a bit hit and miss, but I found a few things which I love.
Firstly is this chiffon pleated shirt, with gold Aztec collar detail. These shapes tops are always flattering, and can be dressed up or down. I love that the collar brings an extra something to the piece. This was £10 and also comes in a nude colour.

I then saw this top which I fell in love with and actually ended up wearing out last night! It is a sheer cropped vest top with sequins and beading all over. I love the pattern and how the black and gold work together. I also got complimented on this with friends saying that they thought it was from Topshop, as they had a one that was very similar! So if you like the look of it but don't want to pay the price, head to Primark and pick this up for £12!

Lastly, I got this necklace. A gold chain, with a antique style bow. I love bows, and I love that shabby chic distressed white wash effect, so this was always going to be a winner for me.

And that's that! I found some lovely pieces for really affordable prices, have you found any bargains recently?
